An unexpectedly hard shot by Joachim Zapater in the 7th minute of play forced Sagunto's goalkeeper Anakoz Toxeiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rencio Sancho scored 1-0 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Renato Quintero, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Caitano Alarcon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Renato Quintero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Ramón Lozano fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sagunto's protests and gave Ramón Lozano a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Montesol FC booed when Sagunto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ramón Lozano didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Sagunto getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Claude Olano hit a great ball. Tonete Villa took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 31st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Anakoz Toxeiro. Sagunto's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Chano Pastor took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Anakoz Toxeiro. Anakoz Toxeiro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Rencio Sancho's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Renato Quintero firmly grabbed it by the left post. If Chano Pastor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Eusebio Vallejo made the kick off in the second half. Renato Quintero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rencio Sancho in the 52nd minute of play. After some careless play in the Sagunto defense, Joachim Zapater kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Anakoz Toxeiro. The Sagunto fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Anakoz Toxeiro should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Montesol FC's Tonete Villa got a free kick in the 60th minute. A collision led to Sagunto getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Claude Olano hit a great ball. When Chano Pastor came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Montesol FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chano Pastor couldn't finish the play. In the 71st minute, Chano Pastor fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 74 minutes into the match, Sagunto's goal looked a bit too open when Joachim Zapater came free, but Anakoz Toxeiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Ramón Lozano was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 75 minutes had been played. 76 minutes into the match, Sagunto's goal looked a bit too open when Joachim Zapater came free, but Anakoz Toxeiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Despite being the better team, Montesol FC failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
