A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Thomas Garay received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Matia Arratia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Matia Arratia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thomas Garay in the 16th minute of the match. After 19 played minutes Sillar Alta got a freekick which was hit by Moisés Diez. Thomas Garay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Rioja CF's Zigor Llinares got a free kick in the 29th minute. In the 30th match minute, Rioja CF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zigor Llinares to maneuver through the defense. Frances Zubiaga, 31 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Thomas Garay received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Matia Arratia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Sillar Alta's Thomas Garay in the 45th minute got a chance for a shot 45th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alba Rey to make the kick off. In the 54th minute, Baltazar Andres got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Thomas Garay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Sillar Alta's Gai Darroja got a free kick in the 67th minute. Gamus Gabas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alba Rey in the 69th minute of play. Baltazar Andres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Gamus Gabas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Moisés Diez kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. In the 80th minute, Baltazar Andres ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gamus Gabas was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Garcilaso Maroto hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. After 87 played minutes, Sillar Alta's Frances Zubiaga shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Matia Arratia came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Sillar Alta reached it. Thomas Garay struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Matia Arratia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sillar Alta. After 92 played minutes, Rioja CF's Garcilaso Maroto shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gamus Gabas came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Rioja CF reached it. Matia Arratia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teo Losada, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Rioja CF eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
