Máximo Cabrera yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. 18 minutes into the match, Negros's Baudelio Alonso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Reno Valverde narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of La Cerradura UD booed when Negros was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guter Cambero didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nicholas Novo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Máximo Cabrera having to interfere. 33 minutes into the match, Negros's goalkeeper Máximo Cabrera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Guillen Mangas. In the 36th minute, Rufo Gómez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Guillen Mangas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nicholas Novo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Máximo Cabrera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
