The referee gave C.D Murcia a penalty, 23 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Indar Mora, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Rosario Central's Tito Vila. 0-1. Felipe Zapico scored 0-2 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tito Vila, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match had gone on for 31 minutes, Petronio Checa took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Valentín Leseduarte to make any attempt to save it. 33 minutes into the match, Petronio Checa notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of C.D Murcia's Valentín Leseduarte. Valentín Leseduarte was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience held their breath when Jairo España in the 42nd minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Tito Vila's left hand side. Valentín Leseduarte made an important save on a dangerous shot by Petronio Checa in the 45th minute. Tito Vila made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Boruc Szarmach in the 47th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Petronio Checa to make the kick off. The Rosario Central fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tito Vila should have stopped the shot. In the 61st minute of the match Rosario Central got a corner. C.D Murcia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. The audience was convinced that Petronio Checa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Valentín Leseduarte was relentless in the 77th minute of the game.
