Ariel Garate was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Vitin Gabas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Van 孙坚 in the 9th minute of play. 10 minutes into the game, Fero Pascua was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Alicante c.f.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club de Pajas y Balompié the free kick. Fero Pascua hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Vitin Gabas made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Gabriel Menendez sent off a good shot on target. Alicante c.f.'s attentive Higinio Bencoiechea managed to snatch the ball when Valdo Noya made a throw-in in the 17th minute of the game. 18 minutes into the match, Alicante c.f.'s Malvin Fernandez sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ariel Garate narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Vitin Gabas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Carlomagno Aznar went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. A sloppy throw-in by Carlomagno Aznar in the 27th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Alicante c.f.'s Luciano Esteban. 30 minutes into the match, Luciano Esteban had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ariel Garate. Club de Pajas y Balompié's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luciano Esteban was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. In the 35thth minute of the game Malvin Fernandez who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Club de Pajas y Balompié's Ariel Garate was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 36 minutes, Cristi Voicu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club de Pajas y Balompié and the Alicante c.f. players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 36th minute, one of Club de Pajas y Balompié:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Club de Pajas y Balompié. Luciano Esteban shot the penalty kick right outside the post. 39 minutes into the match, Alicante c.f.'s goal looked a bit too open when Carlomagno Aznar came free, but Vitin Gabas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Van 孙坚 recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Alicante c.f.'s Hermelando Vilanova got a free kick in the 42nd minute. In the 43rd minute, Carlos Costa sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Alicante c.f.'s Vitin Gabas didn't even have to move. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Van 孙坚 to strike the kick off in the second half. Ariel Garate made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Malvin Fernandez in the 51st minute of play. Vitin Gabas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gabriel Menendez in the 55th minute of the match. Ariel Garate took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Malvin Fernandez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Club de Pajas y Balompié getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Carlomagno Aznar hit a great ball. In the 60th minute Van 孙坚 shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vitin Gabas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vitin Gabas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olívio Carneiro in the 61st minute of play. In the 68th minute, Gabriel Menendez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Club de Pajas y Balompié fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. A collision led to Alicante c.f. getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. In the 93rd minute, Roldán Vidal ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vitin Gabas was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. Alicante c.f.'s players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
