The referee ignored Herrestrup's protests and gave Helmuth Havenskjold a yellow card for diving instead. When Kristen Traunstein came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Råbylille SIK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kristen Traunstein couldn't finish the play. David Thestrupgaard charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed David Thestrupgaard the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Kristen Traunstein's late challenge caught a Herrestrup's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kristen Traunstein helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Herrestrup booed when Råbylille SIK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kristen Traunstein didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ture Wijngaard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Asker Spliid having to interfere. Asker Spliid was out of position in the 30 minute of play, and Ture Wijngaard capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ture Wijngaard really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kristen Traunstein in the 37th minute of play forced Herrestrup's goalkeeper Aage Kabbel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jacob Salvia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Asker Spliid having to interfere. Aage Kabbel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jes Herlin in the 42nd minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jes Herlin to strike the kick off in the second half. Asker Spliid showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacob Salvia, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. In the 57th minute, Kristen Traunstein got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 59 minutes, Kristen Traunstein managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Råbylille SIK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kristen Traunstein was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Ture Wijngaard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Råbylille SIK fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 62nd minute. Penalty! Terkel Tangsted shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Aage Kabbel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jes Herlin, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Herrestrup's Ture Wijngaard got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 74 minutes of play, Herrestrup's Jacob Salvia made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Asker Spliid was left in no man's land by his defense there! Aage Kabbel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jes Herlin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Jes Herlin came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Råbylille SIK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jes Herlin couldn't finish the play. If Ture Wijngaard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jacob Salvia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Asker Spliid having to interfere. Råbylille SIK's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
