Match Report

Niewald Sportfeld
Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0)
If Ralph Deissler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, VFB STUTTGART's Martin Babusch got control of the ball when Robert Gehlen tried to sneak it across the goal line. Martin Babusch was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ralph Deissler showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 7 minute of play. Daniel Staudt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabian Abt having to interfere. Wilfried Bachem's late challenge caught a Niewald FSV's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wilfried Bachem helped the player get up and apologised. When the match had gone on for 15 minutes, Ralph Deissler took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Martin Babusch to make any attempt to save it. Robert Gehlen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martin Babusch having to interfere. When Robert Gehlen came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Niewald FSV fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Robert Gehlen couldn't finish the play. In the 24th minute, Ralph Deissler fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind VFB STUTTGART's goalkeeper Martin Babusch, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. VFB STUTTGART's Wilfried Bachem got his second yellow card of the match in the 29th minute. The referee ordered Wilfried Bachem off the ground. Ralph Deissler recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 36 minutes into the game, Jakob Koschorrek cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Fabian Abt was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Niewald FSV's Fabian Abt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Staudt in the 47th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ralph Deissler stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Martin Babusch made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ralph Deissler in the 61st minute of play. Ralph Deissler might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Martin Babusch. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ralph Deissler ran back to his position shaking his head. When Feodor Sager fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored VFB STUTTGART's protests and gave Feodor Sager a yellow card for diving instead. 76 minutes into the match, VFB STUTTGART's goal looked a bit too open when Robert Gehlen came free, but Martin Babusch reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of VFB STUTTGART booed when Niewald FSV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Steffen Rogge didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 80th minute Ralph Deissler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martin Babusch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 88 minutes into the game, Niclas Baumjohann was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. VFB STUTTGART's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Niewald FSV the free kick. Niclas Baumjohann kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Robert Gehlen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martin Babusch having to interfere. The supporters of VFB STUTTGART booed when Niewald FSV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jakob Grasser didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ralph Deissler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Martin Babusch tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the VFB STUTTGART players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Niewald FSV.
