Hermann Mouratidis shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. If Erik Teucke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alban Wohlleben might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Deon Schmidt. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alban Wohlleben ran back to his position shaking his head. When Alban Wohlleben came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Merenberg FSV fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alban Wohlleben couldn't finish the play. Holweide's Deon Schmidt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Holweide from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Erik Teucke got free with Deon Schmidt in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alban Wohlleben to make the kick off. Deon Schmidt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Merenberg FSV.
