Okke Westermann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brix Schneidereit, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Timo Cürten fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Okke Westermann having to interfere. Okke Westermann stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Brix Schneidereit's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. A collision led to Cartman Brown getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Maik Marissen hit a great ball. Okke Westermann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Timo Cürten in the 11th minute of play. Dario Becker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donald Kasten having to interfere. Marian Derigs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Cartman Brown's Dario Becker in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. When Maik Marissen was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 28 minutes had been played. Maik Marissen kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. When Brix Schneidereit came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the TSV 1893 Leipzig-Wahren fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brix Schneidereit couldn't finish the play. Mathias Durry sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marian Derigs struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Donald Kasten didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cartman Brown. Jens Hermes's late challenge caught a Cartman Brown's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jens Hermes helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, TSV 1893 Leipzig-Wahren's Jens Hermes got a free kick in the 41st minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edo Kerrutt during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Cartman Brown getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Edo Kerrutt hit a great ball. With a little luck, TSV 1893 Leipzig-Wahren's Donald Kasten got control of the ball when Marian Derigs tried to sneak it across the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Brix Schneidereit was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brix Schneidereit in the 59th minute of play forced Cartman Brown's goalkeeper Okke Westermann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of TSV 1893 Leipzig-Wahren booed when Cartman Brown was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dario Becker didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Timo Cürten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st minute Brix Schneidereit shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Okke Westermann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. During the 80th minute of the match Christoph Blumentritt completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Christoph Blumentritt a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 82 minutes, Marian Derigs made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. TSV 1893 Leipzig-Wahren's Donald Kasten tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, TSV 1893 Leipzig-Wahren's Jens Hermes got a free kick in the 91st minute. Billy Dambietz, 92 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal.
