Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Damien Layher started the match with the kick off. Michael Pöttgen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Justus Röbe in the 5th minute of the match. 7 minutes into the match, FC P.A.O.K 1926's goalkeeper Otto Rothensteiner had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Beat Maus. In the 7th match minute, FC P.A.O.K 1926 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lukas Feckter to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, FC P.A.O.K 1926's Otto Rothensteiner got control of the ball when Beat Maus tried to sneak it across the goal line. Otto Rothensteiner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damien Layher, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Hannover 96 defense, Justus Röbe kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Michael Pöttgen. The Hannover 96 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Michael Pöttgen should have stopped the shot. Beat Maus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Otto Rothensteiner having to interfere. Lukas Feckter hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. With 34 minutes on the clock, Klaus Bruns commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 33 minutes into the game, one of FC P.A.O.K 1926:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Jorck Moll took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Otto Rothensteiner. Otto Rothensteiner dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After having played for 39 minutes, Damien Layher managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hannover 96's supporters crossed their fingers, but Damien Layher was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Thorsten Kästner to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Florian Hochhaus got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Otto Rothensteiner made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damien Layher in the 55th minute of play. Michael Pöttgen made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Thorsten Kästner sent off a good shot on target. Beat Maus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hannover 96's Raphael Rackstein got his second yellow card of the match in the 71st minute. The referee ordered Raphael Rackstein off the ground. FC P.A.O.K 1926's Otto Rothensteiner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Beat Maus in the 80th minute of play. Beat Maus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
