In the 3rd minute the ball was on its way in behind stahl-rot's goalkeeper Lutz Stern, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. stahl-rot's Lutz Stern proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save stahl-rot from getting a goal against them. Thorsten Kästner could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Lutz Stern made a huge save. Jork Heidemann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Otto Rothensteiner having to interfere. Thorsten Kästner received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Lutz Stern tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FC P.A.O.K 1926's Thorsten Kästner got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Justus Röbe was extremely unlucky when he, in the 24th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Justus Röbe in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lutz Stern prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jork Heidemann kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tobi Claus to make the kick off. The audience was convinced that Tobi Claus's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Otto Rothensteiner was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. Richard Friz walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Otto Rothensteiner made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tobi Claus in the 88th minute of play. Henning Frank fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lutz Stern having to interfere.
