The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Theodor Gerhold kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. A collision led to RedStar getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Ruth Haun hit a great ball. In the 7th minute Christo Scheffler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henning Schnappauf saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 9 minutes, Mattis Westphal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. RedStar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mattis Westphal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, RedStar's Ruth Haun got a free kick in the 12th minute. Henning Schnappauf made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christo Scheffler in the 14th minute of play. Wolfgang Kretzschmann didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when RedStar's Friedemann Gerland shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-1 in the ordered_time% minute. Wolfgang Kretzschmann stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Friedemann Gerland's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. If Friedemann Gerland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 22nd minute, Mattis Westphal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The RedStar fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Friedemann Gerland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wolfgang Kretzschmann didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Friedemann Gerland went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. In the 37th minute, Mattis Westphal made a precise shot to the right of Wolfgang Kretzschmann. FcGadebusch's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Christo Scheffler managed to get in a good position for a shot. FcGadebusch's supporters rose to their feet, but Christo Scheffler was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Henning Schnappauf breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to FcGadebusch getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Wilfried Spieß hit a great ball. Theodor Gerhold hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. When RedStar's Friedemann Gerland in the 47th minute got a chance for a shot 47th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FcGadebusch's goalie prevented a goal. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Christo Scheffler stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54thth minute of the game Theodor Gerhold who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but RedStar's Henning Schnappauf was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Friedemann Gerland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Friedemann Gerland scored 0-5 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Wolfgang Kretzschmann, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 72 minutes into the match, Mattis Westphal notched a goal, 0-6, to the right of FcGadebusch's Wolfgang Kretzschmann. Wolfgang Kretzschmann was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Marcio Bartholome struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Wolfgang Kretzschmann didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for RedStar. In the 78th minute, Friedemann Gerland got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 82 minutes into the game, Friedemann Gerland cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-7. Wolfgang Kretzschmann was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in FcGadebusch's zone, Friedemann Gerland stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wolfgang Kretzschmann came out of the goal and Friedemann Gerland tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. RedStar played a much better game than FcGadebusch and deserved their victory. The FcGadebusch players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
