The audience was convinced that Henrik Keute's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ewald Buback was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. 7 minutes into the match, VfB Preussen Greppin 1911's Helge Tönnies broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind VfB Preussen Greppin 1911's goalkeeper Krister Rexhaus, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Trabzonspor's Niko Ewers got a free kick in the 18th minute. If Henrik Keute had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 23 played minutes, VfB Preussen Greppin 1911's Klemens Storz shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ewald Buback came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in VfB Preussen Greppin 1911 reached it. After 25 played minutes Henrik Keute rounded Trabzonspor's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. 31 minutes into the match, VfB Preussen Greppin 1911's Henrik Keute sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ewald Buback narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ewald Buback showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henrik Keute in the 32nd minute of the match. After having played for 37 minutes, Nils Tront managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Trabzonspor's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nils Tront was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nils Tront to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, VfB Preussen Greppin 1911's Maximilian Böhmländer got a free kick in the 52nd minute. After 55 played minutes Nils Tront rounded VfB Preussen Greppin 1911's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-1. 66 minutes into the game, Joost Kossowski was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Trabzonspor's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave VfB Preussen Greppin 1911 the free kick. Ewald Buback stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Henrik Keute's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. Ewald Buback came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by VfB Preussen Greppin 1911's Richard Brechensbauer. But to his dismay, Richard Brechensbauer quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. In the 75th minute Richard Brechensbauer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ewald Buback saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Richard Brechensbauer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ewald Buback having to interfere. Henrik Keute struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Ewald Buback didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for VfB Preussen Greppin 1911. If Nils Tront had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jannick Schumacher kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. If Henrik Keute had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Richard Brechensbauer in the 89th minute of play forced Trabzonspor's goalkeeper Ewald Buback to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of VfB Preussen Greppin 1911 booed when Trabzonspor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jannick Schumacher didn't get a good kick on the ball. 96 minutes into the match, Trabzonspor's Nils Tront sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Krister Rexhaus narrowly saved just below the crossbar. VfB Preussen Greppin 1911's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
