But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lev Retelsdorf couldn't finish the play. The referee ignored Borussia Dortmund's protests and gave Enzo Sprenger a yellow card for diving instead. Morris Thieringer ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 87th minute, Mirko Irmisch ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nico Deutschmann was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-7. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Mirko Irmisch managed to get in a good position for a shot. Borussia Dortmund's supporters rose to their feet, but Mirko Irmisch was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. In the 92nd minute, Mirko Irmisch reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Nico Deutschmann. The goal made the score 0-8. Nico Deutschmann was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Mirko Irmisch showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-9 in the 97 minute of play. When the final whistle sounded Borussia Dortmund left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Galatasaray.
