After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Maximilian-Michael Gilessen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Stockborn FSV's supporters rose to their feet, but Maximilian-Michael Gilessen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Manuel Hillekes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Maximilian-Michael Gilessen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Manuel Hillekes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ralf Ovekamp showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Philipp Neuss in the 24th minute of the match. If Torsten Wolter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sandro Merk's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 31stth minute, Manuel Hillekes skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 36 minutes into the game, Mirco Körber was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Stockborn FSV's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Geismar the free kick. In the 36th minute, Mirco Körber hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thomas Vorwerk was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 37th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 39 minutes into the match, Philipp Neuss notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Stockborn FSV's Ralf Ovekamp. Ralf Ovekamp was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Maximilian-Michael Gilessen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Hillekes having to interfere. If Torsten Wolter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Ralf Ovekamp made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Torsten Wolter in the 52nd minute of play. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Geismar's goalkeeper Manuel Hillekes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpected shot in the 62nd minute by Tim Friebe got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Sandro Merk recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Stockborn FSV's defense didn't have a chance, in the 78th minute, when Philipp Neuss scored to the left of an out of position Ralf Ovekamp, making the score, 0-3. Torsten Wolter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximilian-Michael Gilessen in the 87th minute of play forced Geismar's goalkeeper Manuel Hillekes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Philipp Neuss fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ralf Ovekamp having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Florian Neubrandt during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
