The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, FC KÖLLE's goal looked a bit too open when Gunter Rössel came free, but Josef Holzwart reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Josef Holzwart made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donny Lienemann in the 5th minute of play. VfV Hildesheim's Alexander Madl played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronny Krehl in the 9th minute of play. Josef Holzwart made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gunter Rössel in the 18th minute of play. 32 minutes into the match, VfV Hildesheim's goalkeeper Alexander Madl had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Oliver Epp. After 32 minutes, Tassilo Betzer mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the VfV Hildesheim and the FC KÖLLE players grew even worse after the yellow card. Tassilo Betzer kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Alexander Madl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronny Krehl in the 33rd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rolf Schmidt during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 34th match minute, VfV Hildesheim was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rolf Schmidt to maneuver through the defense. In the 37th minute, Donny Lienemann ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Josef Holzwart was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. In the 43rd minute of the match Ibrahim Richter sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Josef Holzwart skillfully saved the ball. With a little luck, VfV Hildesheim's Alexander Madl got control of the ball when Oliver Epp tried to sneak it across the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ronny Krehl to make the kick off. Donny Lienemann might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Josef Holzwart. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Donny Lienemann ran back to his position shaking his head. Oliver Epp blasted a shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alexander Madl having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in VfV Hildesheim's zone, Ronny Krehl stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alexander Madl came out of the goal and Ronny Krehl tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alexander Madl took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oliver Epp, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 58 minutes, Toni Wüllbier mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC KÖLLE and the VfV Hildesheim players grew even worse after the yellow card. Toni Wüllbier hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Gunter Rössel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Josef Holzwart having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gunter Rössel in the 62nd minute of play forced FC KÖLLE's goalkeeper Josef Holzwart to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When FC KÖLLE's Ronny Krehl in the 63rd minute got a chance for a shot 63rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye VfV Hildesheim's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of FC KÖLLE booed when VfV Hildesheim was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. After 71 played minutes VfV Hildesheim got a freekick which was hit by Tassilo Betzer. 72 minutes into the match, FC KÖLLE's Ronny Krehl sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alexander Madl narrowly saved just below the crossbar. VfV Hildesheim's Alexander Madl played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oliver Epp in the 73rd minute of play. In the 75th minute, Oliver Epp left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC KÖLLE fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Leopold Fersoglu during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. FC KÖLLE's Ludwig Beuschlein couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 81st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for VfV Hildesheim. Ronny Krehl received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Alexander Madl tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in VfV Hildesheim's zone, Ronny Krehl stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alexander Madl came out of the goal and Ronny Krehl tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
