After a defensive mix-up in Merschstrich FC's zone, Miroslav Lockfisch stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joachim Estler came out of the goal and Miroslav Lockfisch tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Miroslav Lockfisch's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joachim Estler was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. With a left leg Hubert Feindt saved Niederseeste FC from getting behind. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Miroslav Lockfisch stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Merschstrich FC's goal looked a bit too open when Andi Klaeden came free, but Joachim Estler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joachim Estler showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miroslav Lockfisch in the 56th minute of the match. Niederseeste FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
