Jo Jahn blasted a shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Heinrich Götze having to make a save. 15 minutes into the match, SV Wehen Wiesbaden's Ersan Weidlandt sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Heinrich Götze narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ali Murat Hartleitner could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Ursus Pfeffer made a huge save. After a rather tough play, SV Wehen Wiesbaden's Zvonimir Fritz got a free kick in the 30th minute. Ali Murat Hartleitner was extremely unlucky when he, in the 32nd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After a rather tough play, FC Pirmasens Blau Weiß's Eidur Neuhausen got a free kick in the 38th minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jo Jahn couldn't finish the play.

The supporters of SV Wehen Wiesbaden booed when FC Pirmasens Blau Weiß was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Johann Jastrzembowski didn't get a good kick on the ball. FC Pirmasens Blau Weiß's Heinrich Götze proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save FC Pirmasens Blau Weiß from getting a goal against them. The supporters of SV Wehen Wiesbaden booed when FC Pirmasens Blau Weiß was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilhelm Bugiel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leo Rasper hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice moves Ersan Weidlandt could shoot a difficult shot in the 61st minute, which Heinrich Götze however easily saved by the left post. If Jo Jahn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Heinrich Götze took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jo Jahn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jo Jahn in the 66th minute of play forced FC Pirmasens Blau Weiß's goalkeeper Heinrich Götze to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Heinrich Götze made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Abbo Söldner sent off a good shot on target. Wilhelm Bugiel kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Jo Jahn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Detlef Pietsch hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Through an outstanding action, after 94 minutes, Heinrich Götze successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. When the match was over SV Wehen Wiesbaden could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than FC Pirmasens Blau Weiß throughout the match.
