Benny Pelzer was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 9thth minute of the game Benni Caspary who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but BV Grün-Weiß Holt's Theobald Weinberg was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Herbert Felber received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Benny Pelzer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 1-1 became the score in the 19th minute when Jörg Kolbe elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After 23 minutes, Ralph Repplinger mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the BV Grün-Weiß Holt and the STV Horst players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, BV Grün-Weiß Holt's Ralph Repplinger got a free kick in the 23rd minute. After 24 played minutes, STV Horst's Frederik Fährmann shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Theobald Weinberg came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. Benny Pelzer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The BV Grün-Weiß Holt players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. STV Horst were winning 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Benni Caspary to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in STV Horst's zone, Richard Uschok stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benny Pelzer came out of the goal and Richard Uschok tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 60 minutes of play, BV Grün-Weiß Holt's Herbert Felber made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benny Pelzer was left in no man's land by his defense there! BV Grün-Weiß Holt's Theobald Weinberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save BV Grün-Weiß Holt from getting a goal against them. The supporters of STV Horst booed when BV Grün-Weiß Holt was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sonny Wienhold didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 71st minute, STV Horst's Benni Caspary dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-3. Richard Uschok sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Jörg Kolbe managed to get in a good position for a shot. STV Horst's supporters rose to their feet, but Jörg Kolbe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Theobald Weinberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 78th minute, Sonny Wienhold hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Richard Uschok came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the BV Grün-Weiß Holt fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Richard Uschok couldn't finish the play. Benni Caspary spun around in front of the goal 85 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of BV Grün-Weiß Holt's goal. In the 89th minute, Guido Pohlmann hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 94th minute Benni Caspary shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Theobald Weinberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The STV Horst players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
