The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpected shot in the 4th minute by Marc Scharfscheer got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Egon Friedl showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustav Schabbel, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. 11 minutes in the game Didi Eichhorn did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Derek Mrozik. 12 minutes into the match, Westermarscherloog FC's goal looked a bit too open when Derek Mrozik came free, but Egon Friedl reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Egon Friedl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustav Schabbel in the 14th minute of play. After 14 played minutes Westermarscherloog FC got a freekick which was hit by Karsten Jaeschke. In the 17th minute Gustav Schabbel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Egon Friedl saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Niklaus Schubert made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Marc Scharfscheer sent off a good shot on target. Niklaus Schubert stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Walther Alt's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. After 29 minutes, Karsten Jaeschke mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Westermarscherloog FC and the Berge United players grew even worse after the yellow card. After having played for 32 minutes, Marc Scharfscheer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Westermarscherloog FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marc Scharfscheer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Westermarscherloog FC's Egon Friedl played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Derek Mrozik in the 34th minute of play. 36 minutes into the game, Marc Scharfscheer cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Niklaus Schubert was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Sven Olano de made in the 40th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Derek Mrozik however managed to control. Egon Friedl took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Derek Mrozik, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Dierk Demelbauer kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. When Mario Heerwagen fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Berge United's protests and gave Mario Heerwagen a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Berge United's Mario Heerwagen got a free kick in the 59th minute. 60 minutes into the match, Berge United's goal looked a bit too open when Sönke Behn came free, but Niklaus Schubert reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 1-1 became the score in the 66th minute when Derek Mrozik elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Derek Mrozik could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Egon Friedl made a huge save. Berge United's Niklaus Schubert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Walther Alt in the 80th minute of play. In the 82nd match minute, Westermarscherloog FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marc Scharfscheer to maneuver through the defense. In the 85th match minute, Westermarscherloog FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan Erfurt to maneuver through the defense. The throw-in from Didi Eichhorn in the 90th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Westermarscherloog FC's Arbo Abart. Derek Mrozik might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Egon Friedl. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Derek Mrozik ran back to his position shaking his head. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Berge United walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
