After 21 played minutes Ingvar Heintz rounded FC Zufallstreffer's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. Eintracht Frankfurt's Erik Scherhag played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ingmar Nettig in the 24th minute of play. In the 25th match minute, Eintracht Frankfurt was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ephraim Rexhaus to maneuver through the defense. When Torben Weigelt came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Eintracht Frankfurt fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Torben Weigelt couldn't finish the play. Henrik Franiel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ingvar Heintz in the 30th minute of play. After some careless play in the FC Zufallstreffer defense, Ingvar Heintz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Henrik Franiel. The FC Zufallstreffer fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Henrik Franiel should have stopped the shot. Boris Moll hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 36 minutes, Boris Moll took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Henrik Franiel to make any attempt to save it. Erik Scherhag made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cyril Heimann in the 39th minute of play. After 39 minutes of play, FC Zufallstreffer's Cyril Heimann made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Erik Scherhag was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ingmar Nettig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

The referee showed Arpad Ernesti the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee gave Eintracht Frankfurt a penalty, 89 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ingvar Heintz, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of FC Zufallstreffer's Henrik Franiel. 4-3. In the 93rd minute, Ephraim Rexhaus got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Erik Scherhag was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
