Bernhard Borgloh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kai Kolb fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jürgen Buhmann having to interfere. Nikolaus Abstreiter charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nikolaus Abstreiter the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 8th match minute, Unterelsaff FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nikolaus Abstreiter to maneuver through the defense. Jürgen Buhmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kai Kolb in the 15th minute of play. Kai Kolb charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kai Kolb the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 16 played minutes Riekenrode FC got a freekick which was hit by Kai Kolb. Kai Kolb's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jürgen Buhmann read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. In the 24th minute, Bernhard Borgloh made a precise shot to the right of Niko Mark. Riekenrode FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Jürgen Buhmann stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gülsün Kwon's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. Sebastian Zahl sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gülsün Kwon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jürgen Buhmann having to interfere. Niko Mark showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olaf Tiedemann, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Riekenrode FC's attack was well implemented in the 47th minute, but when Kai Kolb was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Olaf Tiedemann stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51stth minute of the game Gülsün Kwon who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Unterelsaff FC's Jürgen Buhmann was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Leonid Polat recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gülsün Kwon in the 60th minute of play forced Unterelsaff FC's goalkeeper Jürgen Buhmann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Slaven Rotheuler fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Riekenrode FC's protests and gave Slaven Rotheuler a yellow card for diving instead. Unterelsaff FC's Jürgen Buhmann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gülsün Kwon in the 69th minute of play. In the 72nd minute, one of Unterelsaff FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Unterelsaff FC. Unterelsaff FC:s Jürgen Buhmann showed great skill when he stopped Blaise Hemmersbach:s penalty. Gülsün Kwon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gülsün Kwon in the 91st minute of play forced Unterelsaff FC's goalkeeper Jürgen Buhmann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kai Kolb received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Jürgen Buhmann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Riekenrode FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
