Hetzhof's Roy Rittel got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jürgen Buhmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roy Rittel in the 19th minute of play. In the 29th minute, Olaf Tiedemann got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 30 minutes into the match, Hetzhof's goal looked a bit too open when Bernhard Borgloh came free, but Steffen Bouffier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Unterelsaff FC's Jürgen Buhmann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bert Zischewski in the 32nd minute of play. Bernhard Borgloh's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 36thth minute, Steffen Bouffier skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Olaf Tiedemann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Steffen Bouffier having to interfere. Jürgen Buhmann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roy Rittel, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Roy Rittel to make the kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Roy Rittel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hetzhof's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roy Rittel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jürgen Buhmann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bert Zischewski in the 55th minute of the match. Bert Zischewski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 68th minute, Roy Rittel fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 70 minutes into the game, Sebastian Zahl was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Unterelsaff FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hetzhof the free kick. Sebastian Zahl hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Despite this Jürgen Buhmann quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Roy Rittel in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jürgen Buhmann prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Bernhard Borgloh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 79 minutes, Patrick Wülfing mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hetzhof and the Unterelsaff FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 79 played minutes Hetzhof got a freekick which was hit by Patrick Wülfing. Steffen Bouffier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olaf Tiedemann, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Olaf Tiedemann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
