The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Unterbichl getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Ralf Fritzsche hit a great ball. Kjeld Haldenwang took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Murat Simon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johannes-Markus Bollen in the 5th minute of play forced FC Holzmichel 04's goalkeeper Zinédine Vitz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zinédine Vitz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jörg Abd el Farrag, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. 10 minutes into the match, FC Holzmichel 04's goalkeeper Zinédine Vitz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ralf Dettinger. Johannes-Markus Bollen's late challenge caught a FC Holzmichel 04's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The shot was a little too simple and Zinédine Vitz could save by the left post. If Johannes-Markus Bollen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bruce Teichert charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bruce Teichert the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Bruce Teichert hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Unterbichl's Jörg Abd el Farrag slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Zinédine Vitz. That made the score 1-1 after 43 minutes of play. Joachim Schwarzbäcker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
After a rather tough play, FC Holzmichel 04's Kurt Goll got a free kick in the 58th minute. In the 64th minute, Jörg Abd el Farrag ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Johannes Schneidewind kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Zinédine Vitz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ralf Dettinger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zinédine Vitz came out of the goal in the 97th minute to try and stop a shot by Unterbichl's Johannes-Markus Bollen. But to his dismay, Johannes-Markus Bollen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2.
