Nikodemus Nyfeler hit a great ball. Jerome Lajoie's late challenge caught a Hemmental FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jerome Lajoie helped the player get up and apologised. In the 13th minute, Jerome Lajoie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Novaggio AC getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Jerome Lajoie hit a great ball. The supporters of Hemmental FC booed when Novaggio AC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dick Ciancone didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jerome Lajoie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Hemmental FC's zone, Heiner Olivieri stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Moritz Sonsini came out of the goal and Heiner Olivieri tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rainier Herz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lars Rölli in the 31st minute of play. Mike Gonzales received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Rainier Herz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lars Rölli's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rainier Herz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. Jerome Lajoie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 48 played minutes, Novaggio AC's Dick Ciancone shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Moritz Sonsini came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Novaggio AC reached it. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mike Gonzales stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Heiner Olivieri came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Novaggio AC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Heiner Olivieri couldn't finish the play. In the 54th minute, Hemmental FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Dick Ciancone fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 56 minutes into the match, Hemmental FC's goalkeeper Moritz Sonsini had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jerome Lajoie. Heiner Olivieri had several of the Hemmental FC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 59 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-1 score and a disappointed Moritz Sonsini as he didn't even see the shot coming. The supporters of Novaggio AC booed when Hemmental FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mike Gonzales didn't get a good kick on the ball. Moritz Sonsini made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jerome Lajoie in the 68th minute. If Mike Gonzales had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Jerome Lajoie came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Novaggio AC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jerome Lajoie couldn't finish the play. After 84 played minutes Novaggio AC got a freekick which was hit by Dick Ciancone. LucaLucan Winkel came free in the 92nd minute and tried to tip the ball over Moritz Sonsini, but to the joy of Hemmental FC's supporters the ball went over.
