Spectators: 38 (Terracing: 29, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) In the 3rd match minute, Buchthalen FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Toni Gruenenfelder to maneuver through the defense. Cláudio Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enrico Lajoie in the 5th minute of play. Marius Franceschini's late challenge caught a Berne Wanderers FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marius Franceschini helped the player get up and apologised. When the match had been going on for 9 minutes, Berne Wanderers FC's Clayton Helmholz got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Markus Bohm. Herman Burger recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Markus Bohm stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lamberto Riedweg's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. Cláudio Taffarel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jack Berger, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. With 20 minutes on the clock, Walter Mueller commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 19 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Berne Wanderers FC! In the 22nd minute there was a penalty for Buchthalen FC. Manuel Brousse stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Cláudio Taffarel. 1-1. Lamberto Riedweg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cláudio Taffarel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Toni Gruenenfelder, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lamberto Riedweg in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Markus Bohm prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Andy Held had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Lamberto Riedweg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lamberto Riedweg in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Markus Bohm prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Andy Held struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Markus Bohm didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Berne Wanderers FC. After a defensive mix-up in Buchthalen FC's zone, Lamberto Riedweg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Markus Bohm came out of the goal and Lamberto Riedweg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Buchthalen FC's Markus Bohm played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lamberto Riedweg in the 48th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lamberto Riedweg to make the kick off. The supporters of Berne Wanderers FC booed when Buchthalen FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marius Franceschini didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cláudio Taffarel made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Herman Burger sent off a good shot on target. 58 minutes into the game, Toni Gruenenfelder recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Cláudio Taffarel. Toni Gruenenfelder showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. Lamberto Riedweg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 65 played minutes, Berne Wanderers FC's Fernando Erni shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Markus Bohm came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Berne Wanderers FC reached it. After a rather tough play, Buchthalen FC's Jack Berger got a free kick in the 67th minute. 70 minutes into the match, Berne Wanderers FC's goal looked a bit too open when Enrico Lajoie came free, but Cláudio Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lamberto Riedweg in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Markus Bohm prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Buchthalen FC's zone, Andy Held stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Markus Bohm came out of the goal and Andy Held tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Berne Wanderers FC getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Robby Schaer hit a great ball. Cláudio Taffarel didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jack Berger went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andy Held in the 85th minute of play forced Buchthalen FC's goalkeeper Markus Bohm to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 87th play minutes Lamberto Riedweg shot 3-3, a short shot which went by Markus Bohm and just under the crossbar into goal. When the match clock showed 91 minutes, the score became 4-3 when Lamberto Riedweg sped through Buchthalen FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Markus Bohm. In the 95th minute, Andy Held got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
