Fernand Steurms fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karel Vanpevenaeyge having to interfere. Benny Mestdagh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stephan Ottevaere, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 36 minutes into the game, one of CH Gentierakos:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Karel Vanpevenaeyge went to the wrong direction when Christoff Tijs was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Michael Depauw blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Karel Vanpevenaeyge having to make a save. If Fernand Steurms had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 42 minutes into the game, Michael Depauw cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Karel Vanpevenaeyge was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Michael Depauw had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Antoine Goovaerts made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Antoine Goovaerts ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benny Mestdagh was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Michael Depauw received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Karel Vanpevenaeyge tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 60 minutes into the game, SC Bilzen's Fernand Steurms nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Karel Vanpevenaeyge made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Karel Vanpevenaeyge made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Arnoud Deville sent off a good shot on target. If Michael Depauw had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 67 minutes into the match, Michael Depauw dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Karel Vanpevenaeyge, 1-3. Fernand Steurms sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in CH Gentierakos's zone, Fernand Steurms stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Karel Vanpevenaeyge came out of the goal and Fernand Steurms tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Michael Depauw's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Karel Vanpevenaeyge was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. Karel Vanpevenaeyge showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Michael Depauw in the 78th minute of the match. Fernand Steurms struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Karel Vanpevenaeyge didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Bilzen. In the 85th match minute, CH Gentierakos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arsene Weygaerts to maneuver through the defense. Michael Depauw fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karel Vanpevenaeyge having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fernand Steurms got free with Karel Vanpevenaeyge in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. SC Bilzen's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
