Lierde's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luka Vos in the 47th minute of play forced Lierde's goalkeeper Angelo Baboeuf to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 48 minutes, Luka Vos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Herstal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luka Vos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pierre-Paul De Meulder made a kick off. Refael Van Dongel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Herstal getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Luka Vos hit a great ball. When Tony Vrancx fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lierde's protests and gave Tony Vrancx a yellow card for diving instead. Lierde's Angelo Baboeuf played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeffery Smoors in the 72nd minute of play. In the 72nd match minute, Lierde was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gery Vanden Broucke to maneuver through the defense. In the 75th minute, Harald Van de Putt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 86th minute Pierre-Paul De Meulder shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antoine Poets saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 92nd minute, Refael Van Dongel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Pierre-Paul De Meulder sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Refael Van Dongel got a fine position in front of goal ttaking advantage of the opportunity to rumble in 0-3 in the right cross in the 97th match minute before Antoine Poets had time to react. Lierde's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
