After 9 played minutes Affligem got a freekick which was hit by Axell Kerkhofs. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pieterjan Verbeeck during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Affligem booed when Vinkwijk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pieterjan Verbeeck didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pieterjan Verbeecks short, quick shot in the 14thth minute got Romeo Zamfir to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Pieterjan Verbeeck managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vinkwijk's supporters rose to their feet, but Pieterjan Verbeeck was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Romeo Zamfir breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 29th minute Remi Demarez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romeo Zamfir saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pieterjan Verbeeck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 33 minutes into the game, one of Affligem:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Nicolas Gilis shot the penalty kick right outside the post. After some careless play in the Affligem defense, Pieterjan Verbeeck kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Romeo Zamfir. The Affligem fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Romeo Zamfir should have stopped the shot. Affligem's Romeo Zamfir proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Affligem from getting a goal against them. If Pieterjan Verbeeck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arnout Valkenaers to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Vinkwijk's zone, Mateo D'Hondt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Glenn Van Glabeeke came out of the goal and Mateo D'Hondt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Arnout Valkenaers's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Glenn Van Glabeeke read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. Arnout Valkenaers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Glenn Van Glabeeke tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Affligem's Mateo D'Hondt got a free kick in the 67th minute. Pieterjan Verbeeck struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Romeo Zamfir didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vinkwijk. When Vinkwijk's Pieterjan Verbeeck in the 71st minute got a chance for a shot 71st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
