Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The audience was convinced that Francois Quintens's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arnaud De Greef was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. Cederique De Messemaeckre hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Julien Smet in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Philipp Temmerman prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Julien Smet's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Philipp Temmerman read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. In the 19th minute, Gert-Jan Antheunis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 20 minutes into the game, Cederique De Messemaeckre was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Herve's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ittre the free kick. In the 20th match minute, FC Herve was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cederique De Messemaeckre to maneuver through the defense. Arnaud De Greef made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gert-Jan Antheunis in the 29th minute of play. If Nico Stuijckens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Ittre booed when FC Herve was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cederique De Messemaeckre didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 40th minute Gert-Jan Antheunis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnaud De Greef saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Gert-Jan Antheunis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arnaud De Greef didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gert-Jan Antheunis went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Julien Smet stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A hard shot 60 in the game by Francois Quintens from a close distance when the talented Arnaud De Greef managed to make a qualified save. Ittre's players were relieved. Mark Steenberghs took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 62nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Philipp Temmerman. FC Herve's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A collision led to FC Herve getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Sergio Van Dongel hit a great ball. In the 69th minute, Francois Quintens got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kenn Moens hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. In the 73rd minute, Nico Stuijckens got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Sergio Van Dongel fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Herve's protests and gave Sergio Van Dongel a yellow card for diving instead. Franky Decock kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. When Cederique De Messemaeckre was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 87 minutes had been played. Henri-Patrick Wuttemans, 89 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Francois Quintens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnaud De Greef having to interfere. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched FC Herve eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
