If Joerie Neesens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. Gill Van Huele showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joerie Neesens, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. KV Vaarendries's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joerie Neesens was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 29 minutes into the game, Dyllen Bernaerts was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. KFC Vielsalm's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KV Vaarendries the free kick. Dennis Dewulf struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Gill Van Huele didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KV Vaarendries. Philip Roose charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Philip Roose the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Frits Van Calster fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfons Van Cleijnenbreugel having to interfere. The KFC Vielsalm players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. KV Vaarendries were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joerie Neesens made a kick off. KV Vaarendries's Alfons Van Cleijnenbreugel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tobias Omblet in the 55th minute of play. Dennis Dewulf recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dennis Dewulf received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gill Van Huele came out and tried to block the shot, but Dennis Dewulf slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 60th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mathias De Meyer during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 66 played minutes KFC Vielsalm got a freekick which was hit by Mathias De Meyer. Joerie Neesens received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gill Van Huele came out and tried to block the shot, but Joerie Neesens slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 74th minute. 77 minutes into the match, KFC Vielsalm's Tobias Omblet sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alfons Van Cleijnenbreugel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 88th match minute, KFC Vielsalm was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Charl Steurms to maneuver through the defense. The KV Vaarendries supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing KV Vaarendries would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
