The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gunter Van Acht was out of position in the 10 minute of play, and Pierrot Konings capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Pierrot Konings really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. After 14 played minutes Kolegem got a freekick which was hit by Christofere Styles. 18 minutes into the match, Kolegem's Quentin Maeijnarts sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mark Volle narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Kolegem booed when Stichelen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pieterjan Valckenaerts didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26th minute of the match Conrad Reijdams sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mark Volle skillfully saved the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Quentin Maeijnarts in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mark Volle prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With an all-out effort, Stichelen's Gunter Van Acht threw himself towards the right post 38 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Pierrot Konings, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Kolegem's Gunter Van Acht played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pierrot Konings in the 39th minute of play. When Henry Leenknecht fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kolegem's protests and gave Henry Leenknecht a yellow card for diving instead. Wilfried Kerckmans fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mark Volle having to interfere. In the 48th minute of the match Jason Geraerts shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mark Volle showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Quentin Maeijnarts stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The Stichelen fans cheered their team off the field, for while Kolegem had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
