The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Claus Dhondt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tim Verheyden in the 10th minute of play. Claus Dhondt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jan Wery in the 11th minute of the match. In the 13th minute Yannik Postens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claus Dhondt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Brian Hoolemans kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Claus Dhondt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yannik Postens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Jan Wery came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the FC Pinoboys fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jan Wery couldn't finish the play. After 20 minutes, Brian Hoolemans mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Blaasveld and the FC Pinoboys players grew even worse after the yellow card. Tim Verheyden fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claus Dhondt having to interfere. Jerry Andriesens kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. In the 31st minute of the match Yannik Postens sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Claus Dhondt skillfully saved the ball. When Kenny Vanbuyten fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Pinoboys's protests and gave Kenny Vanbuyten a yellow card for diving instead. In the 34th minute, Kenny Vanbuyten hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. FC Blaasveld's Claus Dhondt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yannik Postens in the 37th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Franck Roose was the one to do the kick off. Claus Dhondt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tim Verheyden in the 52nd minute of play. In the 53rd minute FC Pinoboys were awarded a corner. Yannik Postens went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on FC Pinoboys's corner Yannik Postens fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Claus Dhondt quite easily take care of the ball. After 56 minutes, Andreas Van de Plas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Blaasveld and the FC Pinoboys players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 57th minute, Andreas Van de Plas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 59 minutes into the match, FC Pinoboys's goal looked a bit too open when Arnauld Ingelborgh came free, but Samuel Roulin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 73rd minute, Yannik Postens got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 76 minutes into the match, FC Blaasveld's goalkeeper Claus Dhondt had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tim Verheyden. 77 minutes into the match, Andreas Van de Plas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Samuel Roulin. Andreas Van de Plas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Samuel Roulin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Claus Dhondt was out of position in the 95 minute of play, and Jan Wery capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Jan Wery really showed his touch with that goal: 2-2. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
