A collision led to RSC Nijvel getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Alphonse Godefroid hit a great ball. Frederik van Hagenborgh was a little too slow when Karel-Jan Paschiers got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 4th minute. The score was now 1-0. Karel-Jan Paschiers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frederik van Hagenborgh having to interfere. Frederik van Hagenborgh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stef Steckens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 14 minutes into the game, RSC Nijvel's Adolphe Van Poucke nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luukas Van Hallebeeck made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Jorre Rosbach sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jerom De Groote stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, RSC Nijvel's Wim Meeus got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Frederik van Hagenborgh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dyllan Sielens in the 57th minute of the match. Jorre Rosbach fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luukas Van Hallebeeck having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Ghent Academy's zone, Adolphe Van Poucke stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luukas Van Hallebeeck came out of the goal and Adolphe Van Poucke tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Jerom De Groote managed to get in a good position for a shot. RSC Nijvel's supporters rose to their feet, but Jerom De Groote was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luukas Van Hallebeeck breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alphonse Godefroid's late challenge caught a Ghent Academy's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alphonse Godefroid helped the player get up and apologised. In the 71st minute, Alphonse Godefroid hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The RSC Nijvel supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing RSC Nijvel would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
