RSC Bastelaar's Raf Wery started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Sam Campens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elias Kaipainen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 4 minutes into the match, RSC Bastelaar's goal looked a bit too open when Elias Kaipainen came free, but Sam Campens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Elias Kaipainen in the 5th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sam Campens saved RSC Bastelaar from getting behind. RSC Bastelaar's defense didn't have a chance, in the 6th minute, when Ignace Van Aarschot scored to the left of an out of position Sam Campens, making the score, 1-0. If Elias Kaipainen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jamie Wynaerts hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Sam Campens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ignace Van Aarschot, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. After 22 played minutes RSC Bastelaar got a freekick which was hit by Raf Wery. Steve Vereyt charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. NutNut's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ignace Van Aarschot was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Elias Kaipainen might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sam Campens. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Elias Kaipainen ran back to his position shaking his head. Sam Campens stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Elias Kaipainen's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. When Elias Kaipainen came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the NutNut fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elias Kaipainen couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, RSC Bastelaar's Sam Campens got control of the ball when Ignace Van Aarschot tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sam Campens was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ignace Van Aarschot showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 44 minute of play. Oswald Spoelbergs hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ignace Van Aarschot was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, RSC Bastelaar's Niki Van Den Bosche got a free kick in the 58th minute. Sam Campens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. During the 75th minute of the match Steve Vereyt completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Steve Vereyt a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, RSC Bastelaar's Steve Vereyt got a free kick in the 76th minute. Elias Kaipainen took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sam Campens. Sam Campens dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. When Ignace Van Aarschot came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the NutNut fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ignace Van Aarschot couldn't finish the play. Elias Kaipainen struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Sam Campens didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for NutNut. In the 85th match minute, RSC Bastelaar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jamie Wynaerts to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Ignace Van Aarschot's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sam Campens was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. Elias Kaipainen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of NutNut booed when RSC Bastelaar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sem Adams didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ignace Van Aarschot received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Sam Campens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. NutNut had played much better football throughout.
