Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Jannes De Geutter kicked off to start the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Walder got free with Didier Van Gestel in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Didier Van Gestel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frederick Hombroeckx in the 7th minute of play. Augustijn De Muijser showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jannes De Geutter, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as KAA Lovendegem's Frederick Hombroeckx slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Didier Van Gestel. That made the score 1-0 after 11 minutes of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jannes De Geutter in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Augustijn De Muijser prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Frederick Hombroeckx sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in KVSK Herstappe's zone, Frederick Hombroeckx stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Didier Van Gestel came out of the goal and Frederick Hombroeckx tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 22nd minute, Johny Van Geertruyen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Augustijn De Muijser was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 25th minute Daniel Walder shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Didier Van Gestel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Didier Van Gestel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Walder, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tim Rijniers during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Tim Rijniers hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Jannes De Geutter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Augustijn De Muijser tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 34 played minutes KVSK Herstappe got a freekick which was hit by Robrecht Kuppens. Johny Van Geertruyen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 43 minutes, Jannes De Geutter made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. KAA Lovendegem's Augustijn De Muijser tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Jannes De Geutter scored 1-3 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Augustijn De Muijser, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Frederick Hombroeckx was the one to do the kick off. After 53 minutes, Ricky Verelst mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the KAA Lovendegem and the KVSK Herstappe players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ricky Verelst kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. KVSK Herstappe's Didier Van Gestel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Walder in the 55th minute of play. After 63 minutes of play, KAA Lovendegem's Frederick Hombroeckx made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Didier Van Gestel was left in no man's land by his defense there! 67 minutes into the match, KAA Lovendegem's goalkeeper Augustijn De Muijser had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Johny Van Geertruyen. Augustijn De Muijser took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jannes De Geutter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Walder fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Didier Van Gestel having to interfere. 73 minutes into the match, Frederick Hombroeckx had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Didier Van Gestel. KVSK Herstappe's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Frederick Hombroeckx was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Frederick Hombroeckx managed to get in a good position for a shot. KAA Lovendegem's supporters rose to their feet, but Frederick Hombroeckx was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Didier Van Gestel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Frederick Hombroeckx took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Didier Van Gestel. Didier Van Gestel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-3. KAA Lovendegem's Daniel Walder got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Daniel Walder fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Didier Van Gestel having to interfere. KVSK Herstappe's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
