Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Lenny De Meijer got the match started through his kick off. 8 minutes into the match, Mopertingen's goal looked a bit too open when Toon Poelmans came free, but Bernard Rutten reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 13 played minutes Toon Poelmans rounded Mopertingen's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. Toon Poelmans received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Bernard Rutten tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 18 played minutes Mopertingen got a freekick which was hit by Niel Spoelbergs. After recieving a nice pass, KVSK Pont-'s Lennart Hairpoel tried to score from far away in the 18th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rik Uytterhoeven during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 21 played minutes Mopertingen got a freekick which was hit by Rik Uytterhoeven. Lenny De Meijer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lenny De Meijer hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Mopertingen's zone, Lionel Nilis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernard Rutten came out of the goal and Lionel Nilis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 36 minutes, Lionel Nilis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KVSK Pont-'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Lionel Nilis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. KVSK Pont-'s Lionel Nilis got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
Ritchie De Raeijmaeckers hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. 55 minutes had been played when some careless play by Mopertingen's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Lennart Hairpoel was slow to take the kick. During this time KVSK Pont-'s players had a chance to rest. The corner led KVSK Pont-'s Lennart Hairpoel to fire away a dangerous shot which Bernard Rutten despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Niel Spoelbergs could shoot a difficult shot in the 57th minute, which Lennart Soens however easily saved by the left post. Jeremey Heijlen's late challenge caught a KVSK Pont-'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jeremey Heijlen helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Mopertingen getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Jeremey Heijlen hit a great ball. Bernard Rutten made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lionel Nilis in the 59th minute of play. Lionel Nilis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 63 minutes into the match, Toon Poelmans had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bernard Rutten. Mopertingen's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Toon Poelmans was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Bernard Rutten showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lionel Nilis, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Mopertingen's zone, Toon Poelmans stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernard Rutten came out of the goal and Toon Poelmans tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Toon Poelmans fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernard Rutten having to interfere. In the 72nd minute, Rik Uytterhoeven hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 75 minutes, Lionel Nilis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KVSK Pont-'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Lionel Nilis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lionel Nilis in the 82nd minute of play forced Mopertingen's goalkeeper Bernard Rutten to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 85th minute, Lionel Nilis made a precise shot to the right of Bernard Rutten. Mopertingen's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. In the 94th minute Lionel Nilis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernard Rutten saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jon Van Langhendoncx's late challenge caught a Mopertingen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jon Van Langhendoncx helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Mopertingen booed when KVSK Pont- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jon Van Langhendoncx didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 99th match minute, Mopertingen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jeremey Heijlen to maneuver through the defense. KVSK Pont- walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
