Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Marco De Becker made the kick off which started today's match. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Lorenzo Van Leemputten managed to get in a good position for a shot. R.Standard Liège's supporters rose to their feet, but Lorenzo Van Leemputten was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arsene Teurfs breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gilles Custermans came free with the goalkeeper in the 6th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Arsene Teurfs could save by the left post. When KFC Oeselgem's Marco De Becker in the 11th minute got a chance for a shot 11th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye R.Standard Liège's goalie prevented a goal. Cesar Eli's late challenge caught a KFC Oeselgem's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cesar Eli helped the player get up and apologised. R.Standard Liège's Dyllen Aelemans got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 18 minutes, Gilles Custermans managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. R.Standard Liège's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gilles Custermans was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lorenzo Van Leemputten sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gilles Custermans received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Arsene Teurfs tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 25th minute of the match, Gilles Custermans got a very nice opportunity to score, but Arsene Teurfs was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Yvan Torfs recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 37 minutes into the match, R.Standard Liège's goal looked a bit too open when Marco De Becker came free, but Herald Persoens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marco De Becker recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco De Becker in the 41st minute of play forced R.Standard Liège's goalkeeper Herald Persoens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marco De Becker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Herald Persoens having to interfere. In the 44th match minute, R.Standard Liège was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dyllen Aelemans to maneuver through the defense. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lorenzo Van Leemputten to make the kick off. If Marco De Becker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 56thth minute of the game Marco De Becker who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but R.Standard Liège's Herald Persoens was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. R.Standard Liège's Herald Persoens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marco De Becker in the 59th minute of play. Marco De Becker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Herald Persoens having to interfere. Arsene Teurfs showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilles Custermans in the 63rd minute of the match. In the 68th minute of the match Tim-Jan Van der Vloedt sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Herald Persoens skillfully saved the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dyllen Aelemans during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 69th match minute, R.Standard Liège was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dyllen Aelemans to maneuver through the defense. Marco De Becker recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 74 minutes into the game, Tim-Jan Van der Vloedt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. KFC Oeselgem's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave R.Standard Liège the free kick. A collision led to KFC Oeselgem getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Tim-Jan Van der Vloedt hit a great ball. Yvan Torfs scored 1-1 in the 80th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Herald Persoens, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gilles Custermans kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Yvan Torfs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Herald Persoens having to interfere. R.Standard Liège's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
