In the 21st minute, Renzo Terwenhout made a precise shot to the right of Herald Persoens. R.Standard Liège's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Herald Persoens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brent-Jan Beaufort, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. If Gilles Custermans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Herald Persoens was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Renzo Terwenhout showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 47 minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The wind increased when Brent-Jan Beaufort made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the game, Dyllen Aelemans was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. R.Standard Liège's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Deerlijk the free kick. A collision led to R.Standard Liège getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Dyllen Aelemans hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, R.Standard Liège's Giovanny Heijligem got a free kick in the 55th minute. Karel-Jan Schrevens succeeded in the game's 57th minute to get real power on a long shot . R.Standard Liège's Herald Persoens hadn't the time to block the shot which was pasted into the goal, 3-1! The audience thought a goal was coming when Gilles Custermans got free with Sander Rosbach in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 63rd minute, Brent-Jan Beaufort ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Herald Persoens was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. Herald Persoens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brent-Jan Beaufort in the 85th minute of play. Herald Persoens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brent-Jan Beaufort, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 91st minute, Lorenzo Van Leemputten got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, R.Standard Liège's Giovanny Heijligem got a free kick in the 97th minute. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. SC Deerlijk had won after a very even match.
