Piet Van Malcot hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Rudi Herpoel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Stanny Huybreghts's shot from short distance in the 7th minute. Rudi Herpoel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luka Beekman in the 8th minute of the match. Luka Beekman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Rudi Herpoel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 19 minutes into the game, Joerie Arnoets was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. KVSK Xhawirs's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KFC Edegem the free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tibaut Van Latem in the 21st minute of play forced KVSK Xhawirs's goalkeeper Diego Hendrickx to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luuk van Goetsenhoven's late challenge caught a KFC Edegem's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luuk van Goetsenhoven helped the player get up and apologised. Luuk van Goetsenhoven hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. 23 minutes into the match, KVSK Xhawirs's goalkeeper Diego Hendrickx had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Herman Hostens. Luka Beekman blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rudi Herpoel having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stanny Huybreghts in the 29th minute of play forced KFC Edegem's goalkeeper Rudi Herpoel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joerie Arnoets lost his temper 34 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 39 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for KFC Edegem! In the 41st minute there was a penalty for KVSK Xhawirs. Glenn Roeckeloos stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Rudi Herpoel. 1-1. In the 46th minute, Stanny Huybreghts made a precise shot to the right of Rudi Herpoel. KFC Edegem's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tibaut Van Latem to strike the kick off in the second half. Luka Beekman hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in KFC Edegem's zone, Stanny Huybreghts stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rudi Herpoel came out of the goal and Stanny Huybreghts tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rudi Herpoel made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Stanny Huybreghts sent off a good shot on target. In the 73rd minute Herman Hostens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diego Hendrickx saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stanny Huybreghts sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. KFC Edegem's Rudi Herpoel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luuk van Goetsenhoven in the 78th minute of play. Diego Hendrickx took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tibaut Van Latem, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. KVSK Xhawirs's Stanny Huybreghts got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Andrew Valckx charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Andrew Valckx the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 88 played minutes KFC Edegem got a freekick which was hit by Andrew Valckx. The long shot by Glenn Roeckeloos in the 89th minute really tested Rudi Herpoel's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. KFC Edegem's Rudi Herpoel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thomas-Jan Kempenaers in the 92nd minute of play. Stanny Huybreghts struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Rudi Herpoel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KVSK Xhawirs. Stanny Huybreghts sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Stanny Huybreghts got free with Rudi Herpoel in the 97th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. KVSK Xhawirs's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
