Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Through an outstanding action, after 24 minutes, Claus Coppens successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 24th match minute, KFC Anseghem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Acke to maneuver through the defense. Claus Coppens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mathijs Vanooteghem in the 30th minute of the match. After having played for 38 minutes, Rob Slabbaert managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KFC Anseghem's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rob Slabbaert was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Frederik Valckenaerts was shown his second yellow card after 45 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of RSC Bredene booed when KFC Anseghem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frederik Valckenaerts didn't get a good kick on the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mathijs Vanooteghem was the one to do the kick off. After 51 played minutes KFC Anseghem got a freekick which was hit by Sam-Lucas Wortelers. Wim Rymenans struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Claus Coppens didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for RSC Bredene. If Rob Slabbaert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mathijs Vanooteghem received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Claus Coppens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 67 minutes into the match, KFC Anseghem's goal looked a bit too open when Mathijs Vanooteghem came free, but Claus Coppens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Rob Slabbaert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Claus Coppens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mathijs Vanooteghem, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Rob Slabbaert struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Robbe Emeleers didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KFC Anseghem. With a little luck, RSC Bredene's Robbe Emeleers got control of the ball when Rob Slabbaert tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rob Slabbaert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robbe Emeleers having to interfere. In the 94th minute Mathijs Vanooteghem shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claus Coppens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
