Beveren's Dany De Poorter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mathijs Vanooteghem in the 28th minute of play. 45 minutes into the match, Beveren's goal looked a bit too open when Mathijs Vanooteghem came free, but Dany De Poorter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joeri Du Bois made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tommas Van der Weijden in the 51st minute of play forced RSC Bredene's goalkeeper Robbe Emeleers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 54th minute, Joeri Du Bois ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Robbe Emeleers was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Tommas Van der Weijden received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Robbe Emeleers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Beveren getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Boudewijn de Pelsmacker hit a great ball. Wim Rymenans received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Dany De Poorter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dany De Poorter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mathijs Vanooteghem, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mathijs Vanooteghem blasted a shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dany De Poorter having to make a save. Wim Rymenans sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 92nd minute, Mathijs Vanooteghem reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Dany De Poorter. The goal made the score 1-1.
