But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sam-Lucas Gillis couldn't finish the play. Maxim Verheyden showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joerie Van Eede, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tommas Van Langendonckx during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Sam-Lucas Gillis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 31 played minutes FC Trembleur got a freekick which was hit by Joerie Van Eede. After a defensive mix-up in FC Trembleur's zone, Paul-Louis Vlimmens stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stephen Wirinckx came out of the goal and Paul-Louis Vlimmens tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 43rd match minute, AFC Localit was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Johny Putman to maneuver through the defense. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
