Camiel Ablij sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 20th minute Camiel Ablij shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hendrik Landewijck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Camiel Ablij struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Hendrik Landewijck didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KAA Hombeek. Mathieux Jennes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pieter-Maarten Huijbregs having to interfere. After a rather tough play, KAA Hombeek's Renzo Van Hoyvelt got a free kick in the 29th minute. Pieter-Maarten Huijbregs showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yvan Huijsmans in the 33rd minute of the match. Hendrik Landewijck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Camiel Ablij, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Hendrik Landewijck stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bastian Godet's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. After a rather tough play, KAA Hombeek's Izak Van Ghele got a free kick in the 38th minute. When RSC Lichtervelde's Yvan Huijsmans, in the 41st minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for RSC Lichtervelde. Tony Engelborgh took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pieter-Maarten Huijbregs. Pieter-Maarten Huijbregs dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Camiel Ablij stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to KAA Hombeek getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Ralf Martin hit a great ball. If Yvan Huijsmans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. RSC Lichtervelde's Siebe Thielemans suffered a concussion in the 57th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. When Ralf Martin fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored KAA Hombeek's protests and gave Ralf Martin a yellow card for diving instead. In the 58th minute, Ralf Martin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Camiel Ablij fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hendrik Landewijck having to interfere. Yvan Huijsmans's late challenge caught a KAA Hombeek's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Yvan Huijsmans helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, RSC Lichtervelde's Yvan Huijsmans got a free kick in the 74th minute. In the 75th minute, Joseph Van Hespen sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and RSC Lichtervelde's Hendrik Landewijck didn't even have to move. During the 77th minute of the match Yvan Huijsmans completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Yvan Huijsmans a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 78th minute, Yvan Huijsmans hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ralf Martin who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 83rdth minute tested the skills of Hendrik Landewijck when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a rather tough play, RSC Lichtervelde's Arnauld Tailleur got a free kick in the 84th minute. In the 86th minute of the match Joseph Van Hespen sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hendrik Landewijck skillfully saved the ball. Hendrik Landewijck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Camiel Ablij, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
