An unexpectedly hard shot by Anthoon Gyselinckx in the 8th minute of play forced KAA Hombeek's goalkeeper Pieter-Maarten Huijbregs to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dean Caers charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dean Caers the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 9 played minutes KAA Hombeek got a freekick which was hit by Dean Caers. Anthoon Gyselinckx received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Pieter-Maarten Huijbregs tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Maurus Van Hole fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pieter-Maarten Huijbregs having to interfere. Ralf Martin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Brend Mestdagh made a huge save. Anthoon Gyselinckx received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Pieter-Maarten Huijbregs tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, KAA Hombeek's Izak Van Ghele got a free kick in the 24th minute. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Daniel Roeland put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Pieter-Maarten Huijbregs. Maurus Van Hole hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Pieter-Maarten Huijbregs took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Roeland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. David Standaers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bastian Godet got free with Brend Mestdagh in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. FC Club Brugge's Brend Mestdagh proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save FC Club Brugge from getting a goal against them. In the 46th minute, Anthoon Gyselinckx left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Club Brugge fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. The KAA Hombeek players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. FC Club Brugge were winning 0-2.

The wind increased when Camiel Ablij made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in KAA Hombeek's zone, Anthoon Gyselinckx stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pieter-Maarten Huijbregs came out of the goal and Anthoon Gyselinckx tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fransesco De Hertoghe in the 56th minute of play forced KAA Hombeek's goalkeeper Pieter-Maarten Huijbregs to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 61st minute of the match Joseph Van Hespen shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Brend Mestdagh showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 65 minutes into the game, Renzo Van Hoyvelt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. KAA Hombeek's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Club Brugge the free kick. A collision led to KAA Hombeek getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Renzo Van Hoyvelt hit a great ball. 66 minutes into the game, Joseph Van Hespen threw the ball into play from the sideline. FC Club Brugge's David Standaers quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Pieter-Maarten Huijbregs made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Anthoon Gyselinckx sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, KAA Hombeek's Dean Caers got a free kick in the 69th minute. Daniel Roeland fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pieter-Maarten Huijbregs having to interfere. A collision led to KAA Hombeek getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Camiel Ablij hit a great ball. In the 80th minute, Louis Focquier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Brend Mestdagh didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bastian Godet went, in the 83rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Joppe Vrankx received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Pieter-Maarten Huijbregs tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 91 minutes into the match, KAA Hombeek's Camiel Ablij sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Brend Mestdagh narrowly saved just below the crossbar. FC Club Brugge's attentive Fransesco De Hertoghe managed to snatch the ball when Thommy Kloots made a throw-in in the 93rd minute of the game. Pieter-Maarten Huijbregs made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Fransesco De Hertoghe sent off a good shot on target. Brend Mestdagh didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Camiel Ablij went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Despite being the better team, FC Club Brugge failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
