Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Geoffrey Elssen started the match with the kick off. When Kasper Smits came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Desse fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kasper Smits couldn't finish the play. Jannic Goovaers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alexander Sannen in the 6th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geoffrey Elssen in the 7th minute of play forced Desse 's goalkeeper Jannic Goovaers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 10 minutes into the game, Yelle Le Page was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Desse 's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vaaghof the free kick. In the 10th match minute, Desse was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yelle Le Page to maneuver through the defense. Alexander Sannen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 14 minutes into the match, Desse 's goal looked a bit too open when Geoffrey Elssen came free, but Jannic Goovaers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jannic Goovaers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geoffrey Elssen in the 15th minute of play. If Alexander Sannen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alexander Sannen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Jannic Goovaers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Desse 's Rocky Van Dijck got a free kick in the 20th minute. Alexander Sannen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jannic Goovaers having to interfere. After 25 minutes of play Desse 's Yelle Le Page was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 26 played minutes Desse got a freekick which was hit by Yelle Le Page. After a defensive mix-up in Vaaghof's zone, Arsene Anteunis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Isaac De Hertoge came out of the goal and Arsene Anteunis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Vaaghof getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Alexander Sannen hit a great ball. Stanny Creemers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Jannic Goovaers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jannic Goovaers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geoffrey Elssen in the 43rd minute of the match. Jannic Goovaers made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Alexander Sannen sent off a good shot on target. Vaaghof's Geoffrey Elssen got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Arsene Anteunis was the one to do the kick off. Geoffrey Elssen scored 1-0 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jannic Goovaers, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arsene Anteunis got free with Isaac De Hertoge in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Arsene Anteunis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Vaaghof booed when Desse was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thomas Tuerlinckx didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vaaghof's Geoffrey Elssen got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Arsene Anteunis in the 84thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Isaac De Hertoge, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Jannic Goovaers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joonatan Van Cleijnenbreughel, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Stanny Creemers during the 91st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 91st match minute, Vaaghof was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stanny Creemers to maneuver through the defense. Vaaghof walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
