Wastenne's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Christoph Van den Paenhuysen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julius Meulemans read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. After 41 played minutes Wastenne got a freekick which was hit by Brend D'haene. The audience was convinced that Jason Delamenin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julius Meulemans was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. Wastenne's Julius Meulemans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jason Delamenin in the 47th minute of play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jason Delamenin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Wastenne's zone, Jason Delamenin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julius Meulemans came out of the goal and Jason Delamenin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 58th minute, Christoph Van den Paenhuysen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match had gone on for 61 minutes, Mike Breugelmans put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Lieven Van Hamme. Binjamin Renotte struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Lieven Van Hamme didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wastenne. Lieven Van Hamme took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Binjamin Renotte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Mike Breugelmans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 85 played minutes Club Poperinge got a freekick which was hit by Tom Stocks. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mike Breugelmans in the 89th minute of play forced Club Poperinge's goalkeeper Lieven Van Hamme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jason Delamenin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute.
