AFC Averbode's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. When Robbie Struijf came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the AFC Averbode fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Robbie Struijf couldn't finish the play. Mike Breugelmans succeeded in the game's 18th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-1. Nico Vandeput showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Binjamin Renotte in the 23rd minute of the match. If Lucas Verengen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, AFC Averbode's Viktor Rix got a free kick in the 27th minute. After a defensive mix-up in AFC Averbode's zone, Binjamin Renotte stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nico Vandeput came out of the goal and Binjamin Renotte tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 33rd minute Cederik De Potter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julius Meulemans saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Brend D'haene kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lucas Verengen got free with Julius Meulemans in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Cederik De Potter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wastenne's defense didn't have a chance, in the 45th minute, when Cederik De Potter scored to the left of an out of position Julius Meulemans, making the score, 3-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

The referee ignored AFC Averbode's protests and gave Cederik De Potter a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to AFC Averbode getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Wastenne's Julius Meulemans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cederik De Potter in the 90th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Brend D'haene during the 91st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
