Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) KFC Gijzegem's Lennart Herinckx played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Michael Haesevoets in the 7th minute of play. Maarten Engelbert took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mehmet Ferit İltemur, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Michael Haesevoets had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 26th minute, Yves Van Gysel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot 28 in the game by Mehmet Ferit İltemur from a close distance when the talented Maarten Engelbert managed to make a qualified save. Erwetegem's players were relieved. In the 32nd minute Maximo Florian shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maarten Engelbert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 34th minute, KFC Gijzegem's Mehmet Ferit İltemur ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Maarten Engelbert. Maarten Engelbert yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Mehmet Ferit İltemur sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Maarten Engelbert stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mehmet Ferit İltemur's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. Manu Van Craesbeeck kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mehmet Ferit İltemur to make the kick off. When Jannis De Pauw fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored KFC Gijzegem's protests and gave Jannis De Pauw a yellow card for diving instead. Jannis De Pauw hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. If Tristan Schautens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 68th minute, Steven Vandenberge got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Maarten Engelbert took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mehmet Ferit İltemur, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Mehmet Ferit İltemur had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With 79 minutes on the clock, Sam Henskens commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. When the match had been going on for 81 minutes, Erwetegem's Yves Van Gysel got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Lennart Herinckx. 85 minutes into the game, Emiel Manaers was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Erwetegem's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KFC Gijzegem the free kick. The supporters of KFC Gijzegem booed when Erwetegem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emiel Manaers didn't get a good kick on the ball. Manu Van Craesbeeck's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Maarten Engelbert read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. Erwetegem played a much better game than KFC Gijzegem and deserved their victory. The KFC Gijzegem players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
