The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 5 minutes, William Gobelijns managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Philippeville's supporters crossed their fingers, but William Gobelijns was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 17th match minute, Tervoort was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jon Sommers to maneuver through the defense. Jens Baboeuf showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christofere Wauters, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. If William Gobelijns had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tervoort's goalkeeper Jens Baboeuf, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 31st match minute, Tervoort was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gustaaf De Metser to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lennart Goens got free with Dany Van De Wijngaert in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tim Koninkx in the 48th minute of play forced Tervoort's goalkeeper Jens Baboeuf to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Christofere Wauters to strike the kick off in the second half. William Gobelijns's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Jens Baboeuf firmly grabbed it by the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when William Gobelijns got free with Jens Baboeuf in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 55th minute, Lennart Goens got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 57 minutes into the match, William Gobelijns had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jens Baboeuf. Tervoort's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that William Gobelijns was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Claude Armentier during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Claude Armentier hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Dany Van De Wijngaert stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ronald Voets's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. When William Gobelijns came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Philippeville fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that William Gobelijns couldn't finish the play. In the 69th minute, Gustaaf De Metser hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Christofere Wauters received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Jens Baboeuf tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jens Baboeuf was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Christofere Wauters showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-2 in the 74 minute of play. Philippeville's Christofere Wauters got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Tervoort defense, William Gobelijns kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jens Baboeuf. The Tervoort fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jens Baboeuf should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Ronald Voets managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tervoort's supporters rose to their feet, but Ronald Voets was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dany Van De Wijngaert breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ronald Voets received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Dany Van De Wijngaert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Philippeville walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
